Every year I host Thanksgiving with my family. This holiday tradition is one of my favorites. Thanksgiving morning I usually turn on the television and my family watches the Macys Thanksgiving parade as I start to prepare my turkey and thanksgiving meal. The aroma of the turkey cooking in the oven makes my house smell sensational.

There are so many holiday appetizers to make for Thanksgiving as well as many different side dishes. One of the best holiday appetizers that I make is a charcuterie. For those of you who do not know what that is a charcuterie is the arranging and preparing of cured meats, cheeses and finger foods on a platter or board. There are so many options to make your board beautiful and festive.

A Thanksgiving holiday appetizer that truly everyone in my family enjoys are fried cardoons. Cardone (Cardoons) is in the family of artichoke’s and it is an Italian favorite. I make them every year especially for my husband and father.

What is your favorite holiday appetizer for Thanksgiving? During Thanksgiving we like to serve many appetizers for our guests. My favorite holiday appetizer my kids enjoy making and serving to everyone is a simple veggie platter that looks like a turkey. What cuter appetizer to serve to your guests.

Here are two of our favorite holiday appetizers to serve during Thanksgiving.

  • Fried Cardones
  • Baked Clams
